Micro Inverters are becoming very popular in rooftop solar installations since ; 1. In future, if one or more modules fail or break, any other module of any make and any wattage can be used for the same inverter. (In string inverter, this is not possible since all the modules are in series). 3. This can also be used as off grid /Grid agnostic system if desired, if it is coupled with AC batteries. 4. This is the safest possible design since it completes eliminates the DC wiring and reduces the system voltage to ZERO when there is Islanding (Grid Failure). So no high DC voltages on the roof. 5.
